Salted Dark Chocolate Bourbon Cocktail

There's something magical about the combination of sweet and savory flavors. And this cocktail does just that. The bitterness of the dark chocolate pairs perfectly with the smoky, caramel notes of bourbon. Add a touch of sea salt, and you have a drink that hits all the right taste buds.

Ingredients

Option 1

  • 2 ounces of bourbon
  • 1 ounce of dark chocolate liqueur
  • 1/2 ounce of simple syrup
  • A pinch of sea salt
  • Dark chocolate shavings, for garnish

Option 2

  • 2oz Woodford Reserve Double Oaked
  • 1  cup Half & Half
  • 3 cups Milk
  • 6oz Dark Chocolate Chips
  • 1/3 cup Sweetener of Choice
  • 1/2 tsp of Salt
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract
  • Garnish with whipped cream, salt, chocolate drizzle

Steps

Option 1

  1. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
  2. Add the bourbon, dark chocolate liqueur, simple syrup, and a pinch of sea salt.
  3. Shake vigorously for about 30 seconds to combine all the flavors.
  4. Strain the mixture into a chilled glass.
  5. Garnish with dark chocolate shavings for an extra touch of indulgence.

Option 2

  1. In a small pot, heat heavy whipping cream and milk until warm.
  2. Stir in dark chocolate chips, whisking until melted.
  3. Stir in sweetener, cinnamon, and salt to taste and stir until dissolved.
  4. Allow to warm until just below boiling.
  5. Remove from heat, then stir in your bourbon and vanilla extract.
  6. Pour into mugs, top with whipped cream, chocolate drizzle and salt.
