Barrel/Cask Strength/Proof

Cask strength, barrel strength, and barrel proof refer to the same thing in whiskey production. It is a term that whiskey manufacturers use to refer to a whisky that has not undergone dilution or adulteration after being stored in a barrel for aging purposes. That type of whiskey often has a relatively higher ABV of up to 66%.
