Lost Lantern Announces 2023 Winter Whiskey Wednesday Drop

Release: November 13, 2023

Four Whiskies That Will Warm Up the Coldest Time of the Year

VERGENNES, Vt. (November 13, 2023) — On Wednesday, November 29th, the award winning independent bottler, Lost Lantern, will celebrate the many ways whiskey can be enjoyed during the winter with its annual Winter Whiskey Wednesday drop. Created specifically to be enjoyed during the coldest season of the year, these new bottlings are sure to evoke thoughts of crackling fireplaces, home-baked holiday treats, and the dreams of summer that keep us warm on the darkest and coldest days of winter.

Lost Lantern Winter Whiskey Collection Bundle

“In Vermont, winter’s embrace can be especially long and cold,” remarked Nora Ganley-Roper, Lost Lantern Co-Founder. “We hope the whiskies in this collection, designed specifically for the season, will bring some extra warmth and joy to whiskey lovers during the chilly months ahead."

Lost Lantern’s last release of 2023 includes four whiskies — two new additions to both the Blend Series and the Single Distillery Series — from a total of seven distillery partners: Cedar Ridge (IA), McCarthy’s (OR), Boulder Spirits (CO), Whiskey Del Bac (AZ), Santa Fe Spirits (NM), St. George Spirits (CA), and Kings County Distillery (NY), a new Lost Lantern partner.

The Winter Whiskey Wednesday collection will be available for purchase at the new Lost Lantern Tasting Room in Vergennes, VT and online at LostLanternWhiskey.com and Seelbachs.com beginning November 29th. It will also be available at select retailers in New York and California.

  • Lost Lantern Shadow (500 bottles): SRP $100
  • Lost Lantern Flame (400 bottles): SRP $100
  • Lost Lantern Mountain Meadow St. George Spirits Single Malt (600 bottles): SRP $150
  • Lost Lantern Brooklyn Bakery Kings County Distillery New York Straight Bourbon (396 bottles): SRP $100

All offerings are non-chill-filtered, have natural coloring, and feature transparent labeling highlighting the source distilleries.

Lost Lantern Co-Founder Adam Polonski said, "We are especially excited about the whiskies in our new collection because they were created purposely to warm up winter. Two are blends of smoked American single malts — one peated (Shadow), one mesquite (Flame) — and are perfect for long, cold winter nights, especially those in front of a fireplace or bonfire. Winter is also our favorite season for baking, and Brooklyn Bakery, our first release from the acclaimed Kings County Distillery, is an ideal pairing for wintry confections. Winter also has us thinking about warmer days ahead, and our latest collaboration with St. George Spirits is truly the essence of California sunshine. After a cold, gray day, this reminds us that sunny days are always around the corner.”

LOST LANTERN WINTER 2023 COLLECTION

Lost Lantern Shadow

Distilled by Boulder Spirits (CO), Cedar Ridge (IA), McCarthy’s (OR)

(500 Btls | 126.3 Proof) SRP: $100

Smoked whiskies take many forms. Lost Lantern Shadow is a blend of peated American single malts that together evoke the shadowy depths of whiskey enjoyment. It includes peated single malts from Iowa, Colorado, and Oregon. The result is a blend of rich oak flavor, deep smoke, with notes of roasted blackberries and plums.

Lost Lantern Flame

Distilled by Santa Fe Spirits (NM), Whiskey Del Bac (AZ)

(400 Btls | 113.9 Proof) SRP: $100

This is a blend of smoked American whiskies that together evoke brightness and warmth. Lost Lantern Flame brings together mesquite-smoked single malts from Whiskey Del Bac in Arizona and Santa Fe Spirits in New Mexico to create a warm, bright, and smoky whiskey. A brilliant flame with notes of charred oranges, chili chocolate, and smoked meats.

Lost Lantern Mountain Meadow St. George Spirits Single Malt

(600 Bottles | 107 Proof): SRP $150

St. George Spirits, the oldest craft distillery in the U.S., creates exceptional spirits with a true sense of artistry. Lost Lantern worked closely with the St. George team to create a whiskey that embodies the warmth, bounty, and freshness of California. This is a blend of four truly unique casks. Incredibly fresh and piney, it has hints of Meyer lemon zest, white pepper, lemon verbena, cinnamon sticks, and jasmine tea. Mountain Meadow has a warm and welcoming mouthfeel and a long, gentle finish.

Lost Lantern Brooklyn Bakery Kings County Distillery New York Straight Bourbon Whiskey

(396 bottles | 133 Proof): SRP $100

Kings County Distillery, the oldest distillery in New York City, creates some of the country’s most acclaimed and sought-after whiskies using New York-grown grains. Lost Lantern Brooklyn Bakery is a marriage of eight different barrels of 5- and 6-year-old Kings County bourbons that were blended to create a powerful, sweet, and spicy straight bourbon. It has rich dark chocolate notes, with hints of pecan pie, graham cracker, blackberry cobbler, and cherry tart – reminiscent of a Brooklyn bakery on a cold winter day.
