Sweet, thick, spicy, maple flavor. While I was very hesitant to spend a premium price on something I have never tasted, the reviews and personal recommendations caused me to pull the trigger; and boy am I glad I did.

Nose Review - Rating: 89
Maple syrup dominates the nosing! You may find a little bit of ethanol hidden in this sweet aroma, but it's a far second to the maple.
Palate Review - Rating: 85
I didn’t think I would like such a strong maple nose and flavor, but it really grows on you. When you add the rye pepper heat, it provides the perfect complement and tempering of the sweetness. Of course, the maple with brown sugar intermingled steals the show. I tend to favor slightly sweet ryes and bourbons, however, this level of sweetness couldn't turn off some people.
Finish Review - Rating: 84
A sweet and long finish with the right amount of rye heat.

Well, this is unique. Every time I open the bottle I have this strange desire for pancakes. I have only tasted one whiskey that was even remotely close to this in flavor profile and it was an exceptional wheated bourbon. The uniqueness of Angel's Even Rye is off the charts.
Value Review - Rating: 78
Retail is $89.99 in Georgia and seems a little high, but I would pay that every time for this unique experience.

Smell IS taste. I am just a guy who has been hit with the bourbon bug and who has come to the conclusion that life is too short to drink average tasting bourbons. Go Gators!
