80 Highly Rated Bourbon General Review of Elijah Craig Small Batch

Nose

Oak! That is what initially hits your nose once you lift a glass of Elijah Craig Small Batch. There’s not much complexity on the nose, and the first few noses are nominated by oak.

Palate

The Elijah Craig Small Batch palate is creamier than I anticipated. It has a medium viscosity and a dark creaminess that I was did not expect from this “bottom shelf“ bourbon. Frankly, I have always used this for mixing, but now I realize that I can drink it neat. There is a sharpness to the palate that some may think compliments the slightly decadent taste. I wish it were slightly smoother, but what do you expect at this price point. For this price point, it is delicious.

Finish

The finish is short, but you feel the cinnamon and spice warmth in your chest a little.

This rating of Elijah Craig Small Batch is probably a little higher than if I rated the different phases of the tasting.

Smell IS taste. I am just a guy who has been hit with the bourbon bug and who has come to the conclusion that life is too short to drink average tasting bourbons. Go Gators!
