76 General Review of Laws Centennial Straight Wheat Whiskey (Bonded)

Laws is my first exposure to a straight wheat whiskey, and I was unsure what to expect. It was a little harsher than I expected when drinking it neat. However, it was spectacular in a cocktail, which I usually do not drink. So, I had a hard time grading this. Still, I will grade it as a neat drinker—the same as all of my reviews.

Detailed Tasting Notes

Nose Review - Rating: 79

The nose of Laws Bonded Centennial Straight Wheat Whiskey opens up with sweet notes. Then, present are the aromas of graham crackers or cinnamon cookies. Mild red hot candy notes take over after that on this first pour. The more you let it sit, the more hot cinnamon spice comes through on the nose. It seems to increase as you sip.

Palate Review - Rating: 74

It has a robust cinnamon spice palate with almost a medicinal feel. I always seem to get a little malted barley and milk chocolate on all of Laws whiskeys even if no barley is present.

Finish Review - Rating: 74

The finish the spicy and long but a little peculiar.

Uniqueness Review - Rating: 76

I am still working through this...

Value Review - Rating: 73

A little pricey for what you receive.

Smell IS taste. I am just a guy who has been hit with the bourbon bug and who has come to the conclusion that life is too short to drink average tasting bourbons. Go Gators!
