85 Highly Rated Bourbon General Review of Lost Lantern "Mega Mesquite" Whiskey Del Bac Arizona Single Malt

Lost Lantern Mega Mesquite Whiskey Del Bac Arizona Single Malt is a wonderfully rich and savory-tasting experience. With a mash bill of 60% unsmoked malted barley and 40% mesquited malted barley, this one-year-aged and 120-proof single malt is a winner!

Nose

Initially, the nose has a dense creaminess that you can sense mingled with orange and dark cherry notes. Spice and ethanol are the following two notes that stand out on Lost Lantern Mega Mesquite Whiskey Del Bac Arizona Single Malt. Way down below the buttery creaminess of the aroma is toasted peat. The longer you nose this whiskey, the more the traditional single malt woody peat aromas come to the fore.

Palate

The palate of Lost Lantern Mega Mesquite Whiskey Del Bac Arizona Single Malt doubles down on the mesquite smoky flavor profile. There is a bit of weight to the mouthfeel. The density of the savory and hearty taste is some of the strongest I have experienced. Man, this is good! While all of the peat smokiness tends to contribute to the dryness of this whiskey, there is enough honey to keep this single malt honest.

Finish

What’s unusual about the finish is that the flavors from the palate, particularly the traditional single malt notes, linger, just a strong on the finish of Lost Lantern Mega Mesquite Whiskey Del Bac Arizona Single Malt.

Smell IS taste. I am just a guy who has been hit with the bourbon bug and who has come to the conclusion that life is too short to drink average tasting bourbons. Go Gators!
