86 Highly Rated Bourbon General Review of Pinhook Tiz Rye Time 7 Year Vertical Series

A quick first-pour review of Pinhook Tiz Rye Time 7-Year Vertical Series. This rye is the most limited release in the Vertical Series to date, and it was well worth the wait. In fact, it makes you wonder, where can the vertical series go from here since Pinhook set the bar so high with this release?

Nose

Citrus, cola, and mint. Oak and clove. After setting it down for a while, the caramel appears and really pops, then disappears—a sweet cola spice aroma. Eventually, I worked out some root beer, leaning towards more of a cream soda.

Palate

Powdered Chocolate and a minty brown sugar that's not very sweet. Clove with a tad bit of saltiness. Full of character. Pinhook Tiz Rye Time 7-Year Vertical Series is an effortlessly drinking and mature rye at 105.12 proof—moderately thick mouthfeel. First-pour perfect, and becomes sweeter as the bottle opens up.

Finish

Muted brown sugar and tobacco.

Smell IS taste. I am just a guy who has been hit with the bourbon bug and who has come to the conclusion that life is too short to drink average tasting bourbons. Go Gators!
